Social Security Disability

 

If you are disabled, you may be eligible to receive Social Security Disability benefits. For Social Security purposes, a person is "disabled" if their medical problem prevents them from working. In addition, the medical problem must be severe enough that it will last at least a year or severe enough where it might result in death.

If your claim for Social Security Disability benefits is denied, you may appeal. However, you only have a limited time to appeal the decision and you may lose this right if you do not appeal in a timely fashion.
