Advocating for the rights of the elderly and injured persons is a personal passion for me. I firmly believe that physicians and long term care facilities, whether a nursing home or otherwise, must be accountable for preventable injuries, especially when serious injury or death occurs.
I have had very close relationships with my great-grandparents and my grandparents. I was with my great-grandparents as they transitioned from their homes to assisted living. From assisted living, they went to skilled nursing facilities. Finally, we journeyed to hospice. These experiences allowed me to gain firsthand experience with long-term care facilities. I also have a unique understanding of the difficult decisions that my clients have to make, for themselves and their loved ones.
Professionally, I am a proud member of the Oakland County Bar Association, Michigan Bar Association, Michigan Association for Justice, and the American Association for Justice.
My many achievements as a lawyer have been recognized by Lawyers Weekly and SuperLawyers magazine. I was honored as a 2009 'Up and Coming' Lawyer and recognized for several years as a "Rising Star".
In addition to my professional achievements, I volunteer my time with a variety of organizations. Currently, I am the president of Waterford Youth Assistance and am also on the Board of the Coordinating Council for Oakland County Youth Assistance. I am also involved with Canine Companions Rescue Center, a no-kill dog rescue; March of Dimes; and the Susan G. Komen Foundation's 3-Day Walk.
